Huskers set games with Wyoming
By BRIAN CHRISTOPHERSON / Lincoln Journal Star
When Nebraska last saw the Wyoming Cowboys, the Huskers were pushed to the limits, staving off an upset as a quarterback played with a collapsed lung.
It was that 42-32 win behind the play of quarterback Brook Berringer that helped Nebraska on its way to the 1994 national championship.
Now, the two programs will meet again, the Huskers agreeing to a three-game series with Wyoming.

The first meeting between Nebraska and the Cowboys will take place on Sept. 24, 2011, at Wyoming. The Cowboys will come to Lincoln on Aug. 31, 2013, and again on Sept. 17, 2016.
“We want to make a strong effort to put together quality non-conference schedules each year, and I think we are continuing to make progress in that area,” Nebraska athletic director Tom Osborne said in a statement.
The Huskers have played five times against Wyoming and won them all. The 2011 meeting will be the first time the Huskers play in Laramie.
Earlier this fall, Nebraska signed a contract for a three-game series with Fresno State. The Huskers will face Fresno State in Lincoln on Sept. 10, 2011, and Sept. 3, 2016. Nebraska will travel west to Fresno on Sept. 13, 2014.
The recent additions of Wyoming and Fresno State give the Huskers three scheduled non-conference games in 2011, 2013 and 2016.
In 2011, Nebraska will face Fresno State and Washington in Lincoln, in addition to its trip to Laramie. In 2013, Nebraska also has a home game with UCLA and a trip to Southern Miss on its slate. The 2016 schedule currently includes home games against Fresno State, Wyoming and Tennessee.
Nebraska has completed its non-conference schedules 2009 and 2010.
