Friday, Apr 17, 2009 - 12:13:21 am CDT

Shuttle service

StarTran will provide shuttle service for Saturday’s Spring Game.

Big Red Express buses will operate to and from Memorial Stadium from two outlying locations:

* SouthPointe Pavilions — 27th Street and Pine Lake Road. Buses will load on the south side, between Von Maur and Coldwater Creek.

* North Star High School — six blocks east of North 27th Street and Folkways Boulevard.

Service will begin at 11 a.m. (two hours before kick-off) with continuous shuttle service to the east stadium. Last buses will leave from the express lots to the stadium approximately 12:15 p.m.

* Fare: $4 each way. Exact change required.

Buses will depart immediately after the end of the game from the east stadium back to the express parking lots.

* For more information: Call  StarTran customer service at 476-1234.

Interstate travel

The Nebraska Department of Roads says these projects could affect fans coming to Lincoln for Saturday’s game:

* I-80, Odessa-Kearney, reconstruction of the westbound lane means head-to-head traffic in the eastbound lane.

* West of Lincoln on I-80, work is under way on the Waco east bridges. The outside lane is closed on the bridges.

* I-80, between Omaha and Lincoln, will be open to two-lane traffic in both directions. There is a 65 mph speed in the construction zone west of the Platte River.

* For weather and road conditions: Call 511.

* Highway construction map:  Go to www.transportation.nebraska.gov and click on 511-web current travel.
