NU women will play Pittsburg St.

The Nebraska women’s basketball team’s two-game exhibition schedule — which begins with a 7:05 p.m. game Tuesday against Pittsburg State at the Devaney Sports Center — is shaping up to be more important to coach Connie Yori than her players.
Six Huskers have regular starting experience, and with two of the three true freshman and another redshirt freshman pushing for significant minutes, Yori will have numerous combinations to experiment with before NU opens against Davidson on Nov. 13.
NU also plays Nebraska-Kearney in a tuneup Sunday.
Yori, beginning her eighth year and looking to guide the Huskers to the postseason for the seventh straight time, has sung the praises of her six seniors for getting the team ready to play.
“We have practiced at a really high level, and their leadership and communication have allowed us to progress very quickly,” she said.
Pittsburg State comes to Lincoln for its first meeting with the Huskers having lost an 86-56 exhibition at Kansas on Sunday.
