Nation's top junior signs with softball program
By the Lincoln Journal Star
Two of the top recruits ever to sign with Nebraska’s softball program, twins Tatum and Taylor Edwards will be expected to make a immediate and significant impact in 2011, NU coach Rhonda Revelle said. “They can both change the game with one swing of the bat.”
The Edwards twins, who signed letters of intent this week, combined for 24 home runs last spring for Vista Murrieta High School in southern California.
Tatum Edwards is a career .363 hitter with 26 home runs. As a pitcher, she’s 41-11 with a 1.10 ERA. Taylor Edwards, a catcher, is a career .539 hitter with a slugging percentage of .985.
EA Sports named Taylor Edwards as its national player of the year last season.
The Edwards twins play summer ball with the Corona Angels, a team coached by the father of current Husker Tori Tyson.
