Dylan Raiola, the nation's No. 1 prospect for the 2024 recruiting cycle, has committed to the two-time defending national champions.
Georgia on Monday won the battle for the 6-foot-3, 220-pound, five-star prospect who backed off a commitment to Ohio State in December 2022. Along with USC, Oregon and others, Nebraska's new coaching staff restarted its recruiting relationship with Raiola, even attracting him for an unofficial visit in March.
But the son of Husker legend Dominic Raiola — and nephew of NU offensive line coach Donovan Raiola — had a longstanding relationship with the Bulldogs, who routinely surround their quarterbacks with five-star linemen and pair their offense with a dominant, star-studded defense.
Nebraska didn't sign a quarterback in the 2023 class, and put much of its early recruiting energy toward courting Raiola for the 2024 class. With the departure of Richard Torres, NU doesn't have a quarterback in its program younger than sophomore-to-be Heinrich Haarberg.

Most of the nation's top-rated quarterbacks for the 2024 cycle have already committed to schools. NU missed out on the state's top 2024 passer when Daniel Kaelin, unwilling to wait on Raiola's decision-making process, committed to Missouri this spring. Other in-state options could include Elkhorn South's Carson Rauner — who has yet to receive a major offer — and a few other emergent players.
Nebraska is pursuing Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville three-star Kamari McClellan, who is reportedly visiting NU in June. Husker offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield secured the 2024 commit of Dante Reno to South Carolina, but Reno has not yet shown an interest in reopening his recruitment.
