Courtney Wallace pitched a complete game, allowing one run as the Huskers topped Purdue for the second straight day.
Two days after Brooke Andrews' homer put the Huskers in front late against Iowa State, she had the biggest swing again in a win over Purdue.
Brooke Andrews smashed a three-run home run to left center late in Wednesday’s home opener to lift the Nebraska softball team to a victory over Iowa State. It was a pitcher’s duel most of the game, with Courtney Wallace going the distance for the Huskers and notching her 12th win.
The Huskers jumped on Kansas City in Game 1, but an ugly fifth inning doomed them against Kansas.
Papillion-La Vista grad Courtney Wallace threw a three-hitter in the opener and provided relief in the nightcap, while Gretna sisters Brooke and Billie Andrews hit solo homers. The doubleheader was played in front of the largest crowd in the history of Connie Claussen Field, which opened in 2021.
